Description
1914 Annual Report of the Town of Epping, NH, which was mailed local use, presumably sent to a resident names John H. Emerson (whose name is twice written on the report's cover). The 36-page report is dated February 14, 1914, and it includes sections related to the Town Officer, Town Warrant, Valuations and Appropriations, a Statement of Town Debt, Selectmen's Report, Treasurer's Report, Town Clerk's Report, Report of Police Court, Library Report, Librarian's Report, Collector's Report, School Report, Auditor's Report, Report of School Board, and Vital Statistics. It really provides an excellent town snapshot from over 100 years ago, and as such, it is a true piece of local history and Americana. It also has a tie-in to philately, because there is a 2-cent stamp tied to the report, which reflects double weight. The report is in
excellent condition, particularly at over 105 years of age. It is quite clean, with just a couple of light creases.
It is a Very Fine piece ready to enhance any collection of Americana, New Hampshire memorabilia, or postal history.
