1892 400th Anniversary St. Louis American Star Flag Badge Columbus Day

At 75 I’m a retiring antique dealer who is beginning to clean out his stock of stored treasures.
For about forty years I was a pretty fanatical collector of early American flags and lots of other patriotic flag collectibles.
I was honored to have a great collection of them, but I always knew that I was only their custodian for a while and eventually it would be time to move them on to their next owner.
Although Columbus Day didn’t become a national holiday until 1937 some cities commemorated Columbus’ discovery as early as the 1800s.
St. Louis was obviously one of those cities as this metal badge and patriotic ribbon proclaims.
